Fleet maintenance & management for Kent businesses

Servicing, MOT testing and repair programmes for business fleets of any size. Cars, vans and light commercials — one garage, one relationship, one phone call when something needs doing.

Why businesses use NMD for their fleet

When a vehicle is off the road, your business loses money. The difference between a fleet garage and a general garage is how quickly things get sorted and how well the communication works.

At NMD, fleet vehicles get priority booking. If a van breaks down on a Monday morning, we’re not telling you the earliest slot is next Thursday. We understand the urgency because we work with businesses that depend on their vehicles every single day.

You get a single point of contact for all your vehicles. One phone call to book, one invoice at the end of the month, one person who knows your fleet and its history. No explaining the same thing to a different person every time.

We also proactively track MOT dates, service intervals and known issues across your fleet. You shouldn’t have to remember when each vehicle is due — that’s our job.

What’s covered under fleet maintenance

Everything your vehicles need to stay legal, reliable and on the road — handled through one account.

Scheduled servicing

Interim, full and major services to manufacturer specifications. Correct oil grades, quality parts, service book stamped. We track when each vehicle is due so you don’t have to.

MOT testing

Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs for cars and vans. We’ll flag vehicles approaching their due date and book them in ahead of time to avoid any gaps in compliance.

Breakdown and urgent repair

Priority turnaround on fleet vehicles that need to be back on the road. Diagnostics, mechanical repair, electrical faults — we get to the cause quickly and fix it properly.

Tyres and alignment

Tyre supply and fitting, 4-wheel alignment, and pressure management. Commercial vehicles on high mileage need this monitored more closely than most businesses realise.

Brakes, suspension and steering

The components that take the most punishment on commercial vehicles. Regular inspection and replacement before things become dangerous or fail an MOT.

Diagnostics and electrical

Dashboard warning lights, sensor faults, DPF issues, AdBlue problems. Modern commercial vehicles are as electronically complex as any car — we have the equipment to diagnose them properly.

Vehicles we manage

We maintain fleets ranging from a handful of vehicles to larger operations across East Kent. The common thread is businesses that need their vehicles working reliably and don’t want to chase a different garage for every issue.

Vans — Transit, Transit Custom, Sprinter, Vivaro, Relay, Boxer, Crafter. The workhorses that take the hardest use and need the most consistent maintenance.

Pickups — Ranger, Hilux, L200, Navara, Amarok. Commercial and utility use, often with higher service demands than manufacturer schedules anticipate.

Company cars — BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Ford, Peugeot and all other makes. Serviced to manufacturer specification, warranty maintained.

Specialist vehicles — Refrigerated vans, tippers, lutons and other modified commercials. If it fits in our workshop, we maintain it.

How a fleet account works

Setup

Give us your vehicle list — registrations, mileages, and last service/MOT dates. We’ll build a schedule and flag anything that’s due or overdue immediately.

Ongoing management

We contact you ahead of each service and MOT due date to arrange booking. For reactive work — breakdowns, warning lights, damage — call us and we’ll prioritise getting the vehicle in.

Reporting

Each vehicle has a maintenance history on file. You can request a fleet condition report at any time — useful for budgeting, vehicle replacement decisions, or compliance audits.

Invoicing

Monthly account invoicing or per-job billing — whichever suits your business. Purchase order numbers accommodated, VAT invoices provided as standard.

Fleet maintenance questions

How many vehicles do we need to qualify as a fleet?
There’s no minimum. Whether you’ve got three vans or thirty, the same service applies — priority booking, proactive scheduling, and a single point of contact.
How quickly can you turn around an urgent repair?
Fleet vehicles get priority. For most issues we can get the vehicle in same-day or next-day. Turnaround depends on the repair and parts availability, but we’ll keep you updated throughout.
Do you offer collection and delivery?
We can arrange collection and delivery for fleet vehicles within the local area. Discuss this when setting up your account and we’ll confirm what’s practical for your locations.
Can you maintain vehicles under manufacturer warranty?
Yes. Under Block Exemption regulations, we can service vehicles to manufacturer specification using correct parts without affecting the warranty. Service books are stamped and digital records updated.
Do you handle MOTs for the fleet?
Yes — Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs. We track due dates across your fleet and arrange bookings proactively so nothing slips through.
What about wet belt and timing chain work on fleet vehicles?
Absolutely. Transit and Ranger EcoBlue wet belts, Sprinter timing chains — these are services we specialise in. We’ll flag any fleet vehicle approaching a replacement interval and schedule it before it becomes an emergency.
